Corvyn is an offline abstract-reasoning trainer. It has no account, sends no analytics or telemetry, and practice works with no connection at all. It sends something only when you ask it to: a puzzle report when you tap ⚑, and, if you have Gold, your synced history and the leaderboard runs you choose to enter.
What Corvyn collects
Your practice stays on your device. Everything the app records about you — your practice history, your ability estimate, your progress and settings — is stored in the app's own on-device database. Without Gold's cloud sync it is never transmitted to us or to anyone else.
A report you choose to send. When you tap ⚑ to disagree with a puzzle's rule, Corvyn sends that puzzle's id, the answer you picked, the app version, the platform (iOS or Android) and the version of the puzzle generator to a server we run on Cloudflare, so that we can rebuild the exact puzzle and check it. Nothing else goes with it: no name, no account, no identifier for you or your device, and none of your history. Your internet address is used only to limit how often requests can arrive and is not stored. If you are offline, the report waits on your device and is sent the next time the app opens with a connection.
With Gold: cloud sync, if you keep it on. Gold's cloud sync keeps a copy of your practice history on our server so your other phones, and a new one, have it too: each answer with its puzzle's rules, difficulty and time, your finished Challenge runs, your streak and your personal bests. Your settings (theme, sound, daily goal) are not synced. The copy is built and compressed on your phone. Cloud sync is on when you have Gold and can be switched off in the settings menu at any time.
With Gold: the weekly leaderboard, only if you join. If you join, your best full Challenge run of each week is sent: its rating, its score and the difficulty it reached, and the puzzles with your answers and times, so the run can be checked. The board has no name on it, generated or otherwise: other players see only how many ratings sit above and below theirs, and you see where yours stands among everyone's. Nothing is sent until you join.
How Gold's data is tied to you. Not by name, email or account. When you buy Gold, the app attaches a random id to the purchase. Our server asks Apple or Google whether that purchase is a current Gold subscription, and stores your synced copy and leaderboard entries under a one-way code made from that random id. Gold from an offer or promo code comes without one, so the app gives it one the first time it syncs: on iPhone our server records the app's random id on the purchase with Apple, and on Android the id is computed from the purchase itself. We never learn who you are.
There is no account, no sign-in, no email capture, no advertising identifier, and no tracking of any kind. Nothing is sold or shared with anyone.
Purchases
If you buy a paid tier, the purchase is handled entirely by the app store you bought Corvyn from (Apple's App Store or Google Play). Corvyn never sees or stores your payment details; the store processes the transaction and tells the app whether the entitlement is active. For Gold, our server also asks the store whether your Gold subscription is active, as described above. The store's handling of the transaction is covered by that store's own privacy policy (Apple / Google), not this one.
How long anything is kept
- Reports are removed from our server once they have been collected for review, and at the latest 30 days after they arrive. What we keep is an anonymous tally per puzzle and answer, which identifies no one.
- Your synced copy is deleted 180 days after it was last updated — for example, after your subscription ends.
- Leaderboard weeks are deleted four weeks after they end.
Your data and your control
- Delete cloud data, in the settings menu, deletes your synced copy and every leaderboard entry from our server at once. It works at any time, including after your subscription has ended. Your phone keeps its own history. See Deleting your data.
- Leaving the leaderboard deletes your entries, and switching cloud sync off stops all uploads.
- Reset progress deletes your history on the device; with cloud sync on, the reset also reaches your synced copy and your other phones.
- Uninstalling Corvyn removes everything on the device.
- A puzzle report carries nothing that identifies you, so it cannot be traced back to you — and, for the same reason, we cannot pick out yours to delete.
Children
Corvyn asks no one for personal information — no name, email, age or contact details — including children. A puzzle report contains nothing about the person who sent it, and Gold's data is stored under a random code, never under a name.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published here with a new effective date, before any version of the app that the change applies to is released.
